I’m been drinking a lot more water for the past couple of weeks due to my excessive thirst. I don’t have any other symptom, but I’m worried. I’m at a perfectly healthy weight but my diet is not exactly the healthiest, and I don’t exercise. I’m worried about getting diabetes. Can skinny people still get diabetes if their diets are bad. I thought only fat people could get it. If so, how can I stop it?

I’ve only been diagnosed since this past April and I am already experiencing numbness and pain in my feet and my vision is getting blurry. Does this mean that I’ve had the illness for some time and didn’t know it? Should I be taking insulin or medication with these symptoms rather than relying on diet and exercise?

Also, I have depression that doesn’t respond to treatment with anti-depressants for very long. Could the diabetes be causing this? Would medication or insulin help stop the depression?
